Second Life is a wonderful and diverse platform that supports many worthy organizations and individuals that would like to introduce you to new ways of thinking and doing.

Some of these groups you may know or have heard of. Some you may not. 

This article will be about some I have run across you might also like to explore.

All about water
All About Water encourages enjoyment, understanding, research and wise use of our precious water resources. 

The group  manages the water micro-ecology builds at the Center for Water Studies on Better World Island.  Currently the Center contains 6 diffferent simulated natural water habitats: Ocean/Seashore, Mangrove Swamp, Pacific Northwest Rainforest, Pond, Waterfall/Stream, and Coral Barrier Reef to explore.

Amnesty International (SL)
AI (SL) is an attempt to boost the mission of AI i.e. to take action focused on preventing and ending grave abuses of the rights to physical and mental integrity, freedom of conscience and expression, and freedom from discrimination, within the context of its work to promote all human rights.

Please join us, strengthen our support for a world that we intend to give to our children, and send suggestions and opinions.

Clean energy NOW
An inconvenient truth", the movie by Al Gore about climate change has brought the importance of clean energy out into the open for everybody to see.

But, did you know there are even other, more urgent, reasons to invest in alternative energy? It is called peak oil, which in short means we will not have enough oil to power all our needs quite soon.

We are here to increase the awareness and knowledge about the dependancy of our society on dwindling supplies of conventional energy and on alternatives.

Enviromental council
The Environmental Council (EC) consists of environmental science and policy experts and group leaders, as well as media that reports on environment, from Second Life or Real Life. The goal is to facilitate communication among our members, and ultimately benefit our organizations' members and the public as well.

If you think you qualify, contact any officer.  Any member can and is welcome to broadcast to all the other EC members.

For all RL supporters of the NGO Greenpeace. Let's get a GP presence here in SL!

We're currently looking for people who have land, or who can build. We're especially looking for Real Life activists and members, to help spread the word here in SL. We want to get a decent presence here - come help us out!

We've just had our first meeting, things are coming on nicely. Watch this space for more developements!
