1st Collaborative SL Groups Meeting PDF Print E-mail

1st_collaborative.jpg The 1st Second Life collaborative group meeting was held at the Mystical Academy on Saturday Sept. 30 at 12:00 SLT.

Some comments from participants sum this meeting up :

- An extraordinary journey
- We are talking about transforming communication in sl and rl
- Something new can be created through spiritual means and an open-minded willingness to inquire about what else is possible
- The awakening of sleeping ppls..... I think is a gradual process

As any first meeting, it was a bit disjointed...but a very hopeful step ahead in what could be a great new process of collaboration for Second Life.

About half way through the meeting someone finally thought of introductions, which had not been done.

Members of the first meeting represented the Second Life groups : the Source, the Mystic Academy, and World Peace now. In addition there were a number of single people who contributed positive inputs.

Altough no real charter or mission was discussed all seemed to agree that having a spiritual foundation seems to be a way of better assuring success for future projects -- even if we disagree on the specifics.

There was a general consensus that focusing on an event might be a good way to start our collaboration and a general agreement  on the issue of Darfur might be just such a focus. There is a very nice sim that has exhibits on aspects of this and many thought it could be a spiritual cause to be supported.

Although there was talk of forming a new group, most felt that there was no need to start a new group for collaboration as this would defeat the purpose. Instead most felt we should continue in our diverse ways noting "there are already too many groups... but not enough cohesion".

All in all, after a 1/2 hour of banter and conversation, the group determined to meet again in a week.
